How would you describe your Training and Education?
Tyler earned his Master of Social Work (MSW) from Rutgers University, School of Social Work in New Brunswick, NJ, graduating in May 2015. During his studies, he completed the Addiction Counselor Training (ACT) Certificate Program and was inducted into the Phi Alpha Honor Society. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University, School of Arts and Sciences, with a double major in Psychology and Political Science, graduating in May 2011, and was recognized by the Gamma Sigma Alpha Honor Society. Throughout his training, Tyler gained extensive experience in clinical social work and addiction counseling, with a focus on psychiatric symptoms and diagnosis, addiction, and co-occurring mental health disorders. His education included supervised practice in individual, group, and family therapy across multiple treatment settings and levels of care, strengthening his proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities and diagnostic assessment. In addition, his specialized training in addiction counseling further developed his ability to support clients in managing substance use and related behavioral health concerns.
How would you describe your Professional Approach and Style?
Tyler works with a wide range of clients using a Person-Centered approach that adapts to each individual’s needs. His style is supportive and collaborative, encouraging clients to explore their thoughts and emotions openly. He draws from a variety of techniques—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic strategies—to help clients manage stress, cope with challenges, and build skills to navigate life more effectively.
What areas would you say you have Expertise in?
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Tyler specializes in clinical social work, addiction counseling, and the treatment of co-occurring mental health conditions. He brings extensive experience providing individual, group, and family therapy across multiple levels of care. Tyler’s expertise includes working with clients managing psychiatric symptoms and diagnoses, substance use concerns, OCD, anxiety disorders, and phase-of-life transitions. He utilizes evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), behavioral activation, and other structured interventions to help clients develop practical skills, reduce distress, and create meaningful, lasting change.
On a Personal Note
Beyond his professional work, Tyler enjoys playing guitar and composing music, spending quality time with his daughter, and going to concerts. These creative and meaningful outlets help him maintain balance and stay connected to what he values most.
