How would you describe your Training and Education?

Jaime earned an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Professional Counseling from Seton Hall University — a post-master's degree that carries the advanced clinical coursework and supervised training required for professional counseling licensure in New Jersey. During that program, Jaime specialized in Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), two evidence-based approaches built around changing your relationship to difficult thoughts rather than simply arguing with them. That training centered on supporting individuals, families, and adoptees through relational, emotional, and systemic challenges, and it continues to shape a practice grounded in both structure and genuine human connection.

How would you describe your Professional Approach and Style?

Jaime works from a client-centered foundation, which means meeting you exactly where you are — honoring your lived experiences, cultural identity, and emotional truth without judgment or a predetermined agenda. Before anything else, the work is about building a relationship where you feel safe, validated, and actually seen, because that trust is what makes real progress possible. From there, Jaime listens closely to help you feel understood and then leans toward empowerment: recognizing your own strength, drawing on the resources already around you, and moving forward with more confidence. Counseling here is a team effort — you shape your own story, and Jaime helps you become the best version of yourself on your own terms.

What areas would you say you have Expertise in?

Jaime works with individuals and families navigating grief and loss, anxiety, and depression, with particular depth in adoption — supporting adoptees, adoptive families, and the relational and identity questions that come with them. Jaime also works with substance use, helping clients understand the patterns underneath the behavior rather than just the behavior itself. Whether you're carrying a recent loss, managing anxiety that's begun to run your days, or working through questions tied to adoption and belonging, Jaime offers a steady, nonjudgmental space to do that work.

On a Personal Note

Outside of work, Jaime is happiest outdoors — camping, boating, traveling, and spending time in nature — and also loves reading, watching plays, cuddling bunnies, and watching the kids grow up. That pull toward nature isn't just personal: Jaime is actively researching and building a knowledge base in nature-based therapy.

“Understanding someone’s world is the first step toward supporting their healing.”
